Took a ride along the river banks during low tide. This is a perfect opportunity to get out of the car and see what lies beneath. Without the water, you can explore the sandy shore for a brief time and soak in the beautiful environment.
There were thriving flower bushes and long dead tree figures. No shells but a few fossilized horseshoe crabs. The waterfowl were on a feeding frenzy taking advantage of bait fish trapped in the shallows. I did notice that “smell” of low tide, when seaweed bakes in sunshine. Words can’t really describe it.
The water is so blue and calm, unlike the way Mother Ocean has been over the last few days. There is serenity on the river and I’m glad I went to take it all in and simply listen to the sounds around me. This is my Valium, my Peace of Mind.
