This picture is from a visit to the new World Trade Center and I was taken at how this beautiful bronze plaque honored those who rush in at times of trouble. Similar to what we are experiencing now with two major hurricanes devastating the Gulf Coast and the many heroes rushing in to help those in need.
The Jersey Shore was heavily impacted by loss on September 11. I remember sitting on a bench at the boardwalk the next day watching a dark line of ash traveling across the blue sky. The winds swept debris from the towers over the ocean for days afterwards. There were no planes flying and no clouds in the sky. Only the darkened ash of death was slowly passing by.
